An experienced and broad-minded musician, Erik Reed enjoys a varied musical life. As a fixture of the musical world of the Northwest, he has performed with a plethora of ensembles, including Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Raging River Brass, Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, the Box is Empty, and the Northwest Mahler Festival. Not confined to classical music, Reed’s experience has also led to regular engagements with Dixieland/Americana group Bakelite 78, Indie rock band Other Lives, Delta Spirit, and many others.
Having benefited from the guidance of great instructors like Seattle Symphony principal trumpet David Gordon and Tulsa Symphony principal trumpet Tim McFadden, Reed is a passionate educator who pays forward the guidance he has received. As a licensed music educator in the northwest, Reed augments his performing career by working with students in both individual and group settings.
